About Prof. Daniel Ulf

Historian Prof. Daniel Ulf Khafif is a skilled mediator between the past and the present. Together with actor Werner Daehn, he developed the film project Die Sonnette des letzten Tages (The Sonnets of the Last Day), which tells the story of the resistance fighter Albrecht Haushofer. The accompanying film set experiences take participants to original locations in Berlin-Moabit, combining cinematic storytelling with historical reflection.

He teaches at, among others, the Technical University of Berlin, the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, and the International School of Management, and is also active as an author and publisher.

As a storyteller, he operates at the intersection of communication, memory culture, and historical staging, bringing academic rigor into dialogue with lived and transmitted history.

His work is closely intertwined with biographical experiences: family histories from Berlin during the Weimar Republic, political persecution under National Socialism, and experiences of war, migration, and new beginnings all shape his perspective on historical narratives and spaces of memory. This layered approach informs both his publications and film projects, as well as his work in historical mediation.
