About Arne
The historian Arne Krasting is one of the foremost experts on Berlin during the 1920s.
For over two decades, he has guided audiences through the dazzling and contradictory world of the Weimar Republic – a world where cosmopolitan glamour, excess, social fractures, and political upheavals collide.
His trademark is storytelling: rather than simply explaining, he brings history to life through places, biographies, and moments that make the past tangible.
After studying in Freiburg, Paris, and Berlin, he founded the agency Zeitreisen in 2000, through which he develops historical tours, events, and educational formats at the intersection of culture, tourism, and learning. His work focuses on Berlin in the “Golden Twenties” – its architecture, culture, nightlife, and darker undercurrents.
As the author of several books, a curator of exhibitions, and an expert on the series Babylon Berlin, Arne Krasting combines scholarly precision with narrative ease. He acts as a bridge between past and present – the ideal companion for a journey through an era whose charm still resonates today.
