About Miriam

Sculptor and painter Miriam Lenk makes a powerful mark on contemporary art with her monumental sculptures and expressive works.

As a Metropol Guru, she offers exclusive insights into her artistic process. Miriam Lenk explains the development of her sculptures and reveals the significance of space, form, and movement in her work.

Her works do not emerge from a preconceived concept; rather, they evolve as a work in progress — a creative process of growth that she describes as “accumulation.”

Characterized by expansive, archetypal nude female figures, her work explores themes of vitality, female sensuality, and empowerment. Through her figureheads, she speaks especially to those who feel “too fat, too loud, or too different” in society, granting them a visible and powerful presence.

Her works can be found in public spaces in Albstadt, Berlin, Dresden, Ludwigshafen, and Rüsselsheim, and have been presented in group exhibitions in cities including Berlin, Cluj, Dresden, Frankfurt, Hamburg, New York, and Zurich.

Miriam Lenk studied art and media studies at the University of Konstanz. In 2001, she began studying sculpture at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, graduating with a diploma and completing her studies as a master student.

She lives and works in Berlin and Bodman.
