About Dr. Stefan
Dr. Stefan Schreyger exemplifies the ideal of the cultivated citizen in the finest European tradition. His interests span economic and social history, architecture and the visual arts, as well as literature and music. Guided by a deep curiosity and a commitment to cultural exchange, he regards education not as an end in itself, but as a foundation for meaningful dialogue, intellectual openness, and creative inspiration.
Holding degrees in art history and economic history, as well as a doctorate in economics, Dr. Schreyger was a partner at an international management consulting firm before dedicating himself more fully to cultural and historical pursuits.
Since his student years in Berlin, he has been fascinated by the dynamic relationship between architecture, economic development, and social change. His particular focus lies on the German Empire and the Weimar Republic - an era that witnessed both extraordinary economic growth and cultural flourishing, as well as profound political upheavals and social challenges.
Alongside his engagement with architectural history, Dr. Schreyger is a passionate supporter of Berlin’s contemporary art scene. Inspired by Charlottenburg’s rich salon tradition, he has hosted a private cultural and art salon for more than a decade, which has become a respected fixture in the city’s cultural landscape.
Set within the distinguished atmosphere of a historic Charlottenburg apartment, the salon provides an intimate forum for artistic exchange. It offers emerging artists a platform to present their work while giving established artists the opportunity to experiment, engage with new audiences, and explore fresh perspectives.
In keeping with the historical spirit of the salon, the exhibitions are accompanied by lectures, readings, discussions, and concerts. The goal is to create an inspiring space for the exchange of ideas and to provide a platform for new ideas, projects, and artistic inspiration to flourish.
