About Gabi
Journalist, presenter, and artist, Gabi Becker is a profound connoisseur of Berlin life beyond the usual paths.
On her immersive neighborhood excursions, Gabi opens visitors’ eyes to a different side of Berlin: hidden spots, unique shops, legendary institutions, and the in-between spaces where artists, actors, and local characters intersect. Her programs are fueled by personal stories, subtle humor, and a deep openness to change and new beginnings. Gabi shares experiences from her eventful life and invites participants to discover the city – and themselves – from a fresh perspective. As a guide, she combines media expertise, artistic sensitivity, and an intimate knowledge of everyday life in Berlin.
As a teenager, she moved to the still-divided city, full of wild energy and creativity. There, she fell in love with the singer of Alphaville and even sang with the band. From 1991 to 1993, she studied acting at the private school Herzton while simultaneously attending the Free University of Berlin. After graduating, she spent three decades as a news presenter on Sat.1, VOX, N24, and Kabel Eins, becoming a familiar face in the German media landscape.
In 2013, Gabi Becker founded her company Cubelin, designing seating furniture.
