About Dr. Amelia
Dr. Amelia McConville, literary scholar and co-founder and co-host of the ART+SCIENCE SALON, opens doors to the fascinating intersections of art, science, and culture, making them immediately tangible in engaging experiences as a Metropol Guru. She invites participants to discover new perspectives and experience interdisciplinary connections firsthand.
Her academic career is defined by communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences. Among other roles, she served as Academic Director of the Great Books Summer Program at the University of Oxford, teaching literature, poetry, and contemporary Irish literature.
She earned her PhD at Trinity College Dublin in visual poetics with a focus on neurohumanities. Her groundbreaking dissertation was funded by the Irish Research Council and jointly supervised by the School of English and the Institute of Neuroscience. She previously graduated with distinction in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and Philosophy.
Today, Amelia lives in Berlin, works on European research projects with the Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts & Humanities (DARIAH-EU), interviews digital and new media artists, and curates public programs with the collective BODY OF WORK.
